De Nije Symfony

De Nije Symfony was founded in 2020. This orchestra – consisting of professionals and highly advanced amateurs – aims to give a new impuls to symphonic music making in the Dutch province of Fryslân:

  • The project-based approach lowers barriers for adolescents and for those in their 30’s and 40’s too busy to attend weekly rehearsals all year round.
  • De Nije Symfony is divers & inclusive: all age groups, all education levels, amateurs and professionals, with and without migration backgrounds. Together they share one passion: classical music.
  • De Nije Symfony takes classical music to the heart of society.

The orchestra performs at a high musical and artistic level and takes to the stage of the best concert halls and churches in the three northern provinces of The Netherlands.
